This day of stark contrasts is slightly easier than the previous stages. The special sets out from the centre towards the north of the country in yet another sandy trek, but with no major difficulties. The striking change of scenery will remind the competitors of the need to stay on high alert. Here, the sand gives way to stones, making for some very rugged terrain. The entrants will have to walk βor, should we say, raceβ on eggshells to avoid punctures on the road to Ha’il. Nice and gentle is the winning formula here.
