Although the gruelling first week will have probably opened significant gaps in the ranking, the second will provide ample opportunity to stage a comeback. This mishmash stage throws competitors right back into the thick of it. The first part is a canyon maze with constant changes of direction. Finally, consummate dune-surfers will let their skills do the talking in an intense dune section. There is no time to lose in the race to gain time.
